Outside the Jukebox acknowledges the traditional owners of the lands on which we gather tonight, the Jagera and Turrbal peoples. Woolloongabba is named after the indigenous Woolloon Capem meaning “place of whirling water” in reference to the many waterholes, swamps, and creeks that used to make up this area before colonisation. Outside the Jukebox acknowledges that as the oldest continuous culture on earth, our First Nations people are the original storytellers of this place and we are proud to continue that tradition today. Sovereignty was never ceded. Always was, always will be, Aboriginal Land.
